In every class I instruct I will always, always light a scented candle (usually yankee) a half hour before hand, just to chill out the room and it certainly works, especially so in my meditation classes. The yankee candle wiki here shows that relaxation factors differ between candles - I agree with this 100%!
The best scent is an ocean breeze, the smell from this will help put my class into s great state of meditation ready for the session. You may be asking how they enter this state? Well it's easy, count down from 10 over the course of a minute, each number you count you are slowly going in to a more relaxed state until you reach 1, 1 is your optimum relaxation point - it iis the height of your meditative state and when you get there, nothing can knock you off.
